As I have stated in my last post, I was recently given permission to release the Perspective level editor. In addition to the editor, this contains the entire game with its files extracted in a way where it's easier to mod.

Hi, I’m InfoTeddy from MCF.
ReplyDeleteSo tell me how to install d3dx11d_43.dll on my computer. Because an error message pops up whenever I try to run the editor saying that.
Damn it, I uploaded the wrong version. I'll have the correct one up soon.
ReplyDeleteThere, should be working now. Try re-downloading.
ReplyDeleteAnd now it’s saying, in the Out.txt file that it created, DirectX 11 couldn’t be initialized even though I already have it!
ReplyDeleteDid you download the new one? Try reinstalling DirectX; I've never had that problem.
ReplyDeleteI downloaded and installed the latest DirectX. The editor won't open, though. It just crashes.
ReplyDeleteOkay that's weird. I'm almost positive I uploaded the right file this time, but tomorrow I'll take a look at that version and see if it's different. Like I mentioned in the other post, it does crash a lot, but typically it at least lets me get something done.
ReplyDeleteCool, thanks for checking. I've been desperate for a level editor for a while now. I do a search every few days, which is how I found your blog post. I really need to get this working. And hopefully a community starts to grow so we can start getting some good maps to play from each other.
ReplyDeleteTry installing the DirectX SDK; see if it works then.
ReplyDeleteNo dice after installing the DirectX SDK. I'm on Windows 8 currently, so maybe that's a problem. I'll try the editor on my Windows 7 machine later and see how that works.
ReplyDeleteIn the Out.txt file, I get the following message:
ReplyDelete..\Source\Graphics\GraphicsContext.cpp(444): DirectX 11 could not be initialized. HRESULT: 887a002d
I don't see any folders in my local directory called "Source" nor "Graphics". I also don't have a file called "GraphicsContext.cpp". So could this be the issue?
Pingas!
